Quectel EG91-NAX

The Quectel EG91-NAX is an LTE Cat 1 module optimized for M2M and IoT applications, delivering maximum data rates of 10 Mbps downlink and 5 Mbps uplink using 3GPP Rel-11 LTE technology. This North American variant supports LTE-FDD bands B2/4/5/12/13/25/26 and WCDMA bands B2/4/5, providing backward compatibility with existing UMTS/HSPA+ networks at speeds up to 42 Mbps downlink and 5.76 Mbps uplink.

The module features a compact LGA package measuring 29.0 × 25.0 × 2.45 mm, making it ideal for size-constrained applications. It operates across a temperature range of -35°C to +75°C, with extended temperature support from -40°C to +85°C. The EG91-NAX includes an embedded power management unit with ultra-low power consumption of 9 μA in power-off mode, 1.1 mA in sleep mode, and 16.7 mA at idle, operating on a supply voltage range of 3.3-4.3V.

The module provides comprehensive connectivity through multiple interfaces including dual (U)SIM support, dual UART, USB 2.0 high speed, digital audio PCM, I2C, SPI, and antenna connections for main, Rx-diversity, and optional GNSS (GPS/GLONASS/BDS/Galileo/QZSS). Voice capabilities include AMR/AMR-WB speech codec modes with echo cancellation and noise suppression, plus optional digital audio and VoLTE support.

The EG91-NAX is certified for major North American carriers including Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint, as well as Canadian carrier Rogers and Telus. It holds GCF, PTCRB, FCC, IC, WHQL, and RoHS certifications. Enhanced features include DTMF, DFOTA, QMI/RmNet, QuecLocator, QuecFile, SMS support, and optional eSIM functionality. The module supports extensive driver compatibility across Windows 7/8/8.1/10/11, Linux 2.6-6.5, and Android 4.x-13.x operating systems, including USB serial, GNSS, RIL, NDIS, MBIM, GobiNet, and QMI_WWAN drivers.
