Quectel EG91-E

The Quectel EG91-E is an LTE Cat 1 module optimized for M2M and IoT applications, designed specifically for the EMEA region. This compact module measures 29.0 × 25.0 × 2.3 mm and operates within a temperature range of -35°C to +75°C, with extended temperature capability from -40°C to +85°C.

The module supports LTE-FDD bands B1/3/7/8/20/28A, WCDMA bands B1/8, and GSM/EDGE bands B3/8, delivering maximum data rates of 10 Mbps downlink and 5 Mbps uplink on LTE-FDD. It also supports DC-HSPA+ with speeds up to 42 Mbps downlink and 5.76 Mbps uplink, WCDMA at 384 kbps, EDGE at 296 kbps downlink/236.8 kbps uplink, and GPRS at 107 kbps downlink/85.6 kbps uplink.

The EG91-E features multiple interfaces including dual (U)SIM, dual UART, USB 2.0, digital audio (PCM), I2C, SPI, NETLIGHT, main antenna, Rx-diversity antenna, PWRKEY, RESET_N, and USB_BOOT. It supports voice capabilities with HR/FR/EFR/AMR/AMR-WB speech codec modes, echo cancellation, noise suppression, and optional digital audio with VoLTE.

Enhanced features include DTMF, DFOTA, QMI/RmNet, QuecOpen, QuecFile, (U)SIM card detection, and SMS functionality. The module comes with comprehensive driver support for Windows 7/8/8.1/10/11, Linux 2.6-6.5, and Android 4.x-13.x across USB serial, RIL, NDIS, MBIM, GobiNet, and QMI_WWAN drivers.

Operating on a supply voltage range of 3.3-4.3V (3.8V typical), the module consumes 13 μA in power-off mode, 1.1 mA in sleep mode, and 19 mA in idle mode. The EG91-E holds GCF global certification, CE certification for Europe, UKCA for the UK, Anatel for Brazil, RCM for Australia & New Zealand, and complies with WHQL and RoHS standards. It is certified for use with Deutsche Telekom in Europe and Telstra in Australia.
