Telit GM862-QUAD

The Telit GM862-QUAD is a quad-band GSM/GPRS modem operating on EGSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz frequencies, designed for industrial M2M applications. This compact module measures 43.9 x 43.9 x 6.9 mm and weighs 19 grams, featuring a ruggedized design with an extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C for both operational and storage conditions.

The module delivers Class 4 (2W) output power at 850/900 MHz and Class 1 (1W) at 1800/1900 MHz, with typical sensitivity of -107 dBm at lower frequencies and -106 dBm at higher frequencies. It operates on a supply voltage range of 3.22-4.5V DC (3.8V recommended) with efficient power consumption: 26 μA in power-off mode, 2.6 mA in idle registered power-saving mode, 200 mA in dedicated mode, and 370 mA maximum in GPRS Class 10.

Control is achieved through AT commands according to GSM 07.05, 07.07 and Telit enhanced commands. The module supports multiple voice codecs (HR, FR, EFR, AMR), SMS functionality including concatenated SMS and cell broadcast, circuit-switched data up to 14.4 kbps, GPRS Class 10 Mobile Station Class B, and Group 3 Class 1 fax capabilities.

Key features include an integrated TCP/IP protocol stack (TCP, IP, UDP, SMTP, FTP), jamming detection and reporting, Easy Scan automatic GSM frequency scanning, serial port multiplexer GSM 7.10, SIM access profile, and an onboard SIM card holder supporting 1.8V/3V with real-time detection. The module offers up to 13 I/O ports, analog audio interfaces, A/D converter, buzzer output, and ITU-T V.24 serial link through UART with baud rates from 300 to 115,200 bps.

The GM862-QUAD is fully type approved conforming with R&TTE directive and holds CE, FCC, IC, GCF, PTCRB, and ANATEL certifications. It is RoHS compliant and supports Over-the-Air firmware updates through Telit's Premium FOTA Management using RedBend's vCurrent agent technology. The module connects via a 50-pin Molex connector and includes a 50 Ohm MMCX antenna connector.
