Cinterion EHS5-E Rel.4.01

The Cinterion EHS5-E Rel.4.01 is a highly efficient 3G wireless module that delivers advanced connectivity in an ultra-compact 2G footprint, measuring just 27.6 x 18.8 x 2.3 mm and weighing only 2.7g. This dual-band UMTS module operates on 900/2100 MHz frequencies for WCDMA/FDD and 900/1800 MHz for GSM, making it ideal for M2M applications across Europe, Asia, and other global markets.

Powered by Intel's HSPA baseband, the module supports HSDPA Cat.8 with download speeds up to 7.2 Mbps and HSUPA Cat.6 with upload speeds up to 5.76 Mbps. It also provides EDGE Class 12 connectivity at 237 kbps and GPRS Class 12 at 85.6 kbps for backward compatibility. The module features an embedded TCP/IP stack with secure connection capabilities including TLS/SSL support, enabling reliable Internet services such as TCP/UDP server/client, DNS, Ping, FTP client, and HTTP client.

The EHS5-E incorporates Java ME 3.2 with Multi-MIDlet execution, allowing simultaneous hosting and running of multiple applications and protocols. It includes 6 MB RAM and 10 MB Flash File System for robust application development. The module offers comprehensive connectivity through USB 2.0 High Speed interface (up to 480 Mbps), high-speed serial interfaces (ASC0 and ASC1), 16 GPIO lines, I2C, ADC, digital audio interface, and UICC/USIM card support for both 1.8V and 3V cards.

Operating across an extended temperature range of -40°C to +90°C with a supply voltage of 3.3-4.5V, the module ensures reliable performance in demanding industrial environments. Additional features include integrated configurable and royalty-free FOTA capability, RLS Monitoring for jamming detection, real-time clock with alarm functionality, and support for voice communications with multiple speech codecs (FR, HR, EFR, and AMR). The LGA66 surface-mount package enables fully automated manufacturing with high reliability and process consistency. The module is CE and R&TTE approved, GCF listed, and compliant with EuP, RoHS, and REACH standards.
