Quectel EM121R-GL

The Quectel EM121R-GL is an LTE Advanced Category 12 M.2 module designed for global market coverage. Based on 3GPP Release 14 technology, it delivers theoretical downlink speeds up to 600 Mbps and uplink speeds up to 150 Mbps through advanced features including 3-carrier aggregation and 256QAM modulation.

This compact module measures 42.0 × 30.0 × 2.3 mm and weighs 6.8g, featuring the M.2 form factor with Key-B interface. It operates across a temperature range of -25°C to +75°C, with extended temperature support from -40°C to +85°C. The EM121R-GL provides comprehensive global connectivity through LTE-FDD, LTE-TDD, and WCDMA bands, supporting both intra-band and inter-band carrier aggregation.

The module integrates Qualcomm IZat location technology Gen9-VT with multi-constellation GNSS support (GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou/Compass, and Galileo) featuring active L1+L5 antenna capability for enhanced positioning accuracy. It offers flexible connectivity options through PCIe Gen2 and USB 2.0/3.0 interfaces, making it compatible with various operating systems including Windows, Linux, and Android.

Key features include MIMO technology with DL 2×2 configuration, optional built-in eSIM, Dual SIM Single Active (DSSA) support, and Delta Firmware Over-The-Air (DFOTA) upgrade capability. The module operates on a 3.135-4.4V power supply (typical 3.7V) with low power consumption modes, drawing as little as 66 μA in power-down mode.

The EM121R-GL maintains compatibility with Quectel's EM06, EM12-G, and EM120R-GL modules, facilitating seamless migration paths. It targets applications including industrial routers, home gateways, set-top boxes, laptops, rugged tablets, and digital signage systems. The module supports industry-standard protocols and Quectel Enhanced AT Commands, with certifications including GCF, CE, PTCRB, FCC, IC, and RCM for global deployment.
