Quectel EM120K-GL

The Quectel EM120K-GL is an LTE Advanced Category 12 module designed in the M.2 form factor with Key-B interface. This global market module delivers theoretical peak data rates of 600 Mbps downlink and 150 Mbps uplink using 3GPP Release 12 technology with support for downlink 3-carrier aggregation and 256QAM modulation.

Measuring 30.0 × 42.0 × 2.3 mm and weighing 6.2g, the module operates across -25°C to +75°C (extended range -40°C to +85°C) and provides worldwide LTE-A and UMTS/HSPA+ coverage. It features an integrated multi-constellation GNSS receiver supporting GPS, GLONASS, BDS, Galileo, and QZSS for enhanced positioning capabilities.

The EM120K-GL offers versatile connectivity through USB 2.0/3.0 and optional PCIe Gen2 interfaces, along with dual SIM support (1.8V/3.0V) and optional built-in eSIM functionality with DSSA (Dual SIM, Single Active) capability. The module includes 2×2 MIMO technology for improved data rates and link reliability, with two antenna interfaces for main and Rx-diversity/GNSS functions.

Operating on a 3.135-4.4V supply (typical 3.7V), the module maintains low power consumption with sleep mode at 2.58 mA and idle at 17.35 mA. It supports comprehensive protocols including QMI, MBIM, and HTTPS, along with Quectel Enhanced AT Commands for control.

The EM120K-GL maintains pin-to-pin compatibility with Quectel's EM06 Series, EM060K-GL, EM12-G, EM121R-GL, EM120R-GL, EM160R-GL, and 5G RM500Q/RM502Q Series modules, facilitating seamless migration paths. Target applications include industrial routers, home gateways, set-top boxes, industrial and consumer laptops, rugged tablets, PDAs, and digital signage systems.
