Quectel EG512R-EA

The Quectel EG512R-EA is an LTE Advanced Category 12 module optimized for IoT and eMBB applications. Built on 3GPP Release 14 LTE technology, this module delivers peak data rates of 600 Mbps downlink and 90 Mbps uplink, with DC-HSDPA support providing 42 Mbps downlink and HSUPA offering 5.76 Mbps uplink.

Designed in a compact LGA package measuring 38.0 × 42.0 × 2.65 mm, the EG512R-EA operates across a temperature range of -30°C to +75°C, with extended temperature support from -40°C to +85°C. The module supports multiple LTE-FDD and LTE-TDD bands for EMEA, Australia, and Brazil regions, featuring advanced capabilities including 4×4 MIMO, 256 QAM downlink, and 64 QAM uplink modulation. It supports both intra-band and inter-band carrier aggregation with DL 2CA and DL 3CA configurations.

The module integrates Qualcomm IZat location technology Gen9-VT with support for GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou/Compass, and Galileo positioning systems. It offers comprehensive connectivity through multiple interfaces including dual SIM support, USB 2.0/3.0, PCIe 2.0, RGMII, UART, I2C, SPI, and SD card interfaces. Voice communication is enabled through VoLTE technology.

Operating on a supply voltage range of 3.3-4.3V (typical 3.8V), the EG512R-EA features low power consumption with 50 μA in power-off mode, 2.15 mA in sleep mode, and 8 mA in idle mode. The module supports DFOTA for firmware updates and includes drivers for Windows 7/8/8.1/10, Linux, and Android operating systems. It holds CE certification for Europe and RCM certification for Australia/New Zealand, making it suitable for deployment in 4G routers, CPE devices, wireless POS terminals, consumer laptops, industrial PDAs, rugged tablet PCs, and video transmission applications.
