Quectel EG06-EA

The Quectel EG06-EA is an LTE Advanced Category 6 module optimized for M2M and IoT applications, designed specifically for the EMEA region. Built on 3GPP Release 11 LTE technology, this module delivers data rates up to 300 Mbps downlink and 50 Mbps uplink, with LTE-TDD supporting 226 Mbps downlink and 28 Mbps uplink. The module features DC-HSPA+ connectivity at 42 Mbps downlink and 5.76 Mbps uplink, along with WCDMA support at 384 Kbps for both uplink and downlink.

Packaged in a compact LGA form factor measuring 37.0 × 39.5 × 2.8 mm, the EG06-EA operates across a temperature range of -35°C to +75°C, with extended temperature support from -40°C to +85°C. The module supports LTE-A carrier aggregation and includes an optional multi-constellation GNSS receiver supporting GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, and QZSS for precise positioning capabilities.

The EG06-EA offers comprehensive connectivity through multiple interfaces including USB 2.0/3.0 with master and slave mode support, three UART interfaces, PCIe for Wi-Fi and Ethernet functions, PCM for digital audio, and various GPIOs. It supports both CSFB and VoLTE for voice communications with AMR/AMR-WB speech codecs, echo cancellation, and noise suppression. Additional features include MIMO technology for enhanced data rates and link reliability, DFOTA for firmware updates, DTMF support, and SIM card detection.

The module comes with extensive driver support for Windows 7/8/8.1/10, Linux 2.6-5.4, and Android 4.x-9.x operating systems, including USB, GNSS, RIL, NDIS, MBIM, GobiNet, and QMI_WWAN drivers. With CE certification for Europe and RoHS/WHQL compliance, the EG06-EA operates on a supply voltage range of 3.3-4.3V (typical 3.8V) and features low power consumption with 12 μA in power-off mode and 30 mA in idle mode. This module is ideal for industrial routers, home gateways, set-top boxes, industrial PDAs, rugged tablet PCs, video surveillance, and digital signage applications.
