Cinterion TX82-W

The Cinterion TX82-W is a compact IoT module delivering global LTE-M and NB-IoT (NB1 and NB2) connectivity with 2G fallback from a single SKU. Designed in the ultra-small "Things" footprint (20.9 x 15.3 x 2.28 mm), this 3GPP Release 14 compliant module is engineered for battery-operated LPWA cellular devices including mobile payment terminals, connected sensors, track and trace solutions, metering applications, and monitoring solutions for smart homes, cities and agriculture.

The module supports FDD-LTE bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 27, 28, 66, 71, and 85, providing data-only connectivity with maximum download speeds of 300 kbps for LTE Cat.M1, 27 kbps for Cat.NB1, and 124 kbps for Cat.NB2. Upload speeds reach up to 1.1 Mbps for Cat.M1, 63 kbps for Cat.NB1, and 158 kbps for Cat.NB2. The TX82-W features LTE Power Class 5 (20 dBm) and supports optimized 3GPP power modes including PSM and eDRx for extended battery life.

Key features include integrated GNSS support (GPS/Galileo/GLONASS/BeiDou) for precision positioning, embedded IPv4 and IPv6 TCP/IP stack with various protocol support (TCP/UDP, HTTP, FTP, MQTT, CoAP), and secure connectivity with TLS 1.3/DTLS 1.2. The module offers flexible architecture allowing applications to run either with a host processor or directly on the module using embedded processing with RTOS. Security features include secure boot, trusted identities pre-integrated during manufacturing, and secure key storage. An optional eSIM enables remote provisioning for any MNO network. The TX82-W includes multiple interfaces: 2 high-speed serial interfaces, SPI, I2C, PWM, GPIOs, ADC interface, and UICC/SIM card interface (1.8V).
