Telit SL871L-S

The Telit SL871L-S is an evolved GNSS module based on the low-power MediaTek MT3333 chipset, designed to support GPS, QZSS, GLONASS, Beidou, and Galileo satellite constellations. This compact module can track three different constellations concurrently (GPS + Galileo + GLONASS or GPS + Galileo + Beidou) using 99 search and 33 tracking channels.

Packaged in a small 9.7 x 10.1 x 2.4 mm LCC form factor weighing just 1g, the SL871L-S features an additional LNA, DC block in the RF front end, and a switching power supply that reduces total power consumption for superior battery life. The module operates on 2.8-4.3 VDC supply voltage with typical consumption of 93mW during acquisition and 76mW during tracking for GPS+GLONASS operation, while standby mode consumes only 50μW.

The SL871L-S delivers high sensitivity performance with acquisition at -148 dBm and tracking at -165 dBm, achieving 2.5m positional accuracy (CE50). Time to first fix is 1 second for hot start, 28 seconds for warm start, and less than 31 seconds for cold start at -130 dBm. The module provides navigation position through standard UART interface, with an additional selectable I²C or UART communication port, and includes a 1PPS output for precise timing applications.

Supporting both autonomous and server-based Assisted GPS (A-GPS), SBAS augmentation (WAAS, EGNOS, MSAS, GAGAN), and configurable fix reporting from 1Hz to 10Hz, the module operates across -40°C to +85°C temperature range. Additional features include GNSS Low Power mode, antenna sense capability, odometer functionality, and jammer rejection. The SL871L-S is RoHS compliant with RED and UKCA approvals, making it suitable for fleet management, automotive telematics, navigation systems, and GPS-based tracking applications.
