Cinterion EES3

The Cinterion EES3 is one of the world's smallest EDGE Class 12 wireless modules, delivering the fastest symmetric data speeds in GSM at 236.8 kbps for both uplink and downlink. This quad-band LGA solderable module measures just 33.9 x 29.6 x 3.2 mm and weighs 5.5g, making it ideal for space-constrained M2M applications requiring high-speed data transmission.

The module features an integrated TCP/IP stack accessible via AT commands, supporting internet services including TCP, UDP, HTTP, FTP, SMTP, and POP3. It offers connectivity through dual serial interfaces (ITU-T V.24 protocol) and USB 2.0 full speed, along with a RIL driver for Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 based devices. The EES3 supports both 3V and 1.8V SIM cards through its flexible Multi SIM Interface, enabling compatibility with regular SIM cards and M2M component SIMs.

Operating across a wide temperature range of -40°C to +85°C with a supply voltage of 3.2 to 4.5V, the module incorporates Advanced Temperature Management to protect against critical thermal environments. Additional capabilities include GPRS Class 12 (86 kbps), circuit-switched data up to 14.4 kbps, SMS, Group 3 Class 1 fax, and voice features with triple-rate codec (HR, FR, EFR) and adaptive multi-rate (AMR) support. The module also includes hands-free operation, echo cancellation, and noise reduction.

The EES3 features RLS (Remote Link Stability) Monitoring for network performance information and effective jamming detection. With integrated SIM Access Profile and character framing support (7E1 and 8E1), the module is certified with CE, R&TTE, GCF, UL, FCC, IC, and PTCRB approvals. Delivered in tape and reel packaging with 300 modules per reel, the EES3 is designed for fully automated manufacturing with LGA mounting technology.
