Sierra Wireless FX30
Part no. FX30
Manufacturer: Sierra Wireless
Availability: In Stock
Product description
The Sierra Wireless FX30 is the industry's smallest, most rugged programmable 3G/4G LTE cellular gateway designed for IoT applications in connected machines and infrastructure. This industrial-grade gateway features an aluminum form factor that meets MIL-STD-810 standards for vibration and mechanical shock, operating in extended temperatures from -30°C to +75°C.
Built on the Legato Open Source Linux Platform, the FX30 provides a secure application framework with sandboxed environments for running multiple applications. It includes an Eclipse-based integrated development environment with multi-language support and robust diagnostic tools for local and remote debugging, troubleshooting, monitoring, and profiling.
The FX30 is available in multiple variants including Ethernet and Serial configurations, as well as LTE Cat 1 versions for Americas (Verizon and AT&T). The 3G model operates on six UMTS/HSPA+ bands (B1/B2/B5/B6/B8/B19) with fallback on four 2G EDGE/GSM/GPRS bands (850/900/1800/1900 MHz), enabling worldwide deployments with a single product. LTE variants support Cat 1 bands specific to North American carriers.
Key features include ultra-low power consumption (less than 1W in idle mode, 2mW in ultra-low power mode), comprehensive interfaces including USB 2.0, configurable I/Os, and an IoT Connector expansion slot supporting hardware extensions for sensors and additional connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, RS485, and CANbus. The gateway supports both standard 2FF plastic SIM and optional MFF2 embedded SIM, along with location services including A-GPS, GLONASS, and GALILEO.
The compact dimensions of 75 x 60 x 32 mm (excluding connectors) and weight of 158g make it ideal for embedding into industrial equipment. The FX30 integrates seamlessly with Sierra Wireless' AirVantage IoT Platform for remote fleet management, monitoring, and control, including free unlimited firmware-over-the-air (FOTA) upgrades for the device lifetime. It comes pre-certified with comprehensive regulatory approvals including FCC/IC, CE&RoHS, REACH, RCM, Safety IEC60950-1, UL Listed, E-Mark, GCF, and PTCRB.
