Sierra Wireless AirPrime WP7702

The Sierra Wireless AirPrime WP7702 is a global IoT embedded module that combines Cat-M1/NB1 LTE connectivity with an integrated device-to-cloud architecture on a single compact module. Operating across 14 LTE bands (B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B8, B12, B13, B17, B18, B19, B20, B26, B28), this module delivers Cat-M1 peak download speeds of 300kbps and upload speeds of 375kbps, or Cat-NB1 speeds of 27kbps download and 65kbps upload.

Built on a powerful ARM Cortex-A7 application processor running at 1.3GHz paired with dual QDSP6 telecom cores at 600MHz, the WP7702 runs the open-source Legato platform with Yocto Linux distribution and long-term supported Linux kernel. The module integrates optional GNSS positioning supporting GPS, Galileo, Glonass, and Beidou satellite systems for location-based applications.

The WP7702 features comprehensive connectivity interfaces including 2 UART ports, USB, I2C, SPI, 4 ADC channels, and 18 GPIO pins, along with 1.8V/3V SIM interface support. Audio capabilities include digital audio, PCM/I2S, multiple codec support (HR, FR, EFR, AMR), echo cancellation, noise reduction, and DTMF. The module supports both diversity and MIMO antenna configurations.

Measuring just 22x23x2.5mm in a CF3 LGA form factor with snap-in socket option, the WP7702 operates reliably across industrial temperature ranges from -40°C to +85°C. The module includes secure boot functionality, pre-certified firmware, and is approved by PTCRB, FCC, GCF, and IC regulatory bodies, with carrier certifications from AT&T, Verizon, NTT, and Telstra. Sierra Wireless AirVantage cloud services provide free unlimited FOTA upgrades, with optional device management, application enablement, and connectivity management services available.
