u-blox LISA-U230

The u-blox LISA-U230 is a compact UMTS/HSPA+ module delivering high-speed cellular connectivity with worldwide coverage through 6-band W-CDMA (800/850/900/1700/1900/2100 MHz) and quad-band GPRS/EDGE support. This SMT module achieves download speeds up to 21.1 Mb/s and upload speeds up to 5.76 Mb/s, making it ideal for applications requiring robust data transmission capabilities.

Measuring just 22.4 x 33.2 x 2.6 mm and weighing under 7 grams, the LISA-U230 features exceptionally low power consumption with idle mode current of only 1.7 mA (3G) and operates across an extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. The module provides comprehensive connectivity through multiple interfaces including UART, SPI, USB 2.0 high-speed (480 Mb/s), up to 14 configurable GPIOs, and dual digital audio channels.

Key features include embedded TCP/UDP and HTTP/FTP protocols with SSL support, integrated u-blox GNSS access with AssistNow software for rapid positioning, CellLocate for network-based location services, jamming detection, and antenna diversity for optimal data speeds. The module supports both 1.8V and 3V SIM cards and includes voice capabilities with HR/FR/EFR/AMR/AMR-WB codec support.

Manufactured in ISO/TS 16949 certified facilities and qualified to ISO 16750 standards, the LISA-U230 holds extensive certifications including GCF, PTCRB, FCC, IC, and approvals from major carriers worldwide. Its 76-pin LCC package enables straightforward SMT manufacturing while maintaining compatibility for easy migration from other u-blox module families, making it an excellent choice for mobile internet terminals, tablets, in-car infotainment, connected navigation, security systems, eCall, fleet management, and various M2M applications.
