Telit LE50-868 DIP-WA

The Telit LE50-868 DIP-WA is a certified RF module operating in the 868 MHz ISM license-free frequency band with transmit power up to 25 mW (14 dBm). This compact LGA form factor module measures 26 x 15 x 3 mm and weighs 1.7g, featuring a TTL RS232 serial interface supporting data rates up to 115.2 Kbps.

The module organizes in a star network topology using Telit's proprietary protocol, making it ideal for replacing wired communications such as RS485 links (Profibus, Modbus) and half-duplex RS232 connections. With excellent receiver sensitivity of -109 dBm and a range up to 2000 meters, it provides reliable wireless connectivity across 2 to 60 configurable channels in the 863-870 MHz frequency range using GFSK modulation.

Key features include Listen Before Talk (LBT) for collision avoidance, AES128 data encryption, repeater mode for bridge functionality, and Download Over The Air (DOTA) capability. The module supports both Hayes 'AT' command configuration and addressed mode operation, with up to 9 I/O ports available for flexible integration.

Designed for ultra-low power applications, the LE50-868 consumes only 26 mA in receive mode and 45 mA in transmit mode when powered from 2.0 to 3.6V. Standby consumption is exceptionally low at 1 µA with external wake-up or 3 µA with cyclic wake-up using the internal timer. The module includes 128 kB Flash, 4 kB RAM, and 2 kB EEPROM memory, along with a 32.768 kHz real-time clock and 4 timers.

Operating across an industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C, the module is available with an optional DIP adapter and SMA connector. It maintains over-the-air compatibility with the LE70-868 (500mW) in the G3 868 MHz sub-band and is pin-to-pin compatible with Telit's ZE, NE, and ME module families.
