Sierra Wireless SL8082BT

The Sierra Wireless SL8082BT is a high-speed HSDPA module that provides quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE network access for global coverage, operating on 850/900/1800/1900 MHz for GSM/GPRS/EDGE and 900/2100 MHz for WCDMA. Built in a compact 25 x 30 x 2.35 mm LGA package, this module enables fully automated manufacturing for high-volume production while resisting industrial environments with an extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.

The module features an ARM926EJS processor running at 184 MHz paired with a QDSP4 at 92 MHz, delivering reliable performance with low power consumption - drawing less than 2 mA in standby/idle mode and 570 mA maximum during HSDPA operation at 3.6V. It includes comprehensive connectivity options with USB 2.0 High Speed, UART (4-wire or 8-wire), SPI, and up to 5 GPIO pins, along with dual voltage SIM interface support (1.8V/3V).

Audio capabilities include analog input/output with PCM digital audio interface, supporting FR, EFR, HR, and AMR codecs, plus VDA2A quality echo cancellation and noise reduction. The SL8082BT natively supports the Open AT application framework for simplified software development and includes comprehensive device management capabilities. It offers TCP/UDP/FTP/HTTP/SMTP/POP3/SNMP/SSL internet services and is compatible with Android, Linux, Windows CE 6.0, and Windows Mobile 6.5 operating systems. The module holds R&TTE, CE, and GCF-CC regulatory approvals and is available with an optional Embedded SIM feature.
