Cinterion BGS2 miniPCIe

The Cinterion BGS2 miniPCIe is a quad-band 2G/GPRS wireless module in a standard PCI Express Mini Card form factor designed for x86-based remote monitoring and low bandwidth M2M applications. This data modem card provides global GSM connectivity across 850/900/1800/1900 MHz bands with GPRS Class 10 support, delivering download speeds up to 85.6 kbps and upload speeds up to 42.8 kbps.

Built for industrial environments, the module operates reliably in extreme temperatures from -40°C to +85°C and features Advanced Temperature Management that automatically adapts GPRS performance to prevent overheating. The compact 51 × 30 × 4.8 mm form factor integrates easily via a standardized 52-pin PCIe system connector, requiring only USB 2.0, SIM interface, power supply, and control pins for full operation.

Key features include HQ voice support, VDA 2a antenna diagnostics, voice prompts, RLS monitoring, SSL encryption, and generic flash access. The module supports SMS text and PDU modes, cell broadcast, and Fax Group 3 capabilities. It operates on a 3.0 to 3.6V supply voltage range and includes a U.FL 50Ω antenna connector and configurable status LED.

The BGS2 miniPCIe is controlled via AT commands and comes with built-in Windows and Linux modem driver compatibility, including support for Windows 7, Vista, and XP. The module weighs 7.6g and is RoHS and EuP compliant, with certifications including R&TTE, GCF, FCC, PTCRB, IC, CE, and UL approvals.
