Cinterion EHS5-E Rel.4

The Cinterion EHS5-E Rel.4 is a highly efficient 3G wireless module that delivers advanced connectivity in an ultra-compact 2G footprint, measuring just 27.6 x 18.8 x 2.3 mm and weighing 2.7g. This dual-band UMTS module operates on 900/2100 MHz frequencies with backward compatibility for GSM 900/1800 MHz networks, making it ideal for industrial M2M applications requiring future-proof connectivity.

The module features HSDPA Cat.8/HSUPA Cat.6 capabilities with maximum download speeds of 7.2 Mbps and upload speeds of 5.76 Mbps, while also supporting EDGE Class 12 and GPRS Class 12 for comprehensive network coverage. Built on an LGA66 package for automated manufacturing, it incorporates an embedded TCP/IP stack with secure connection capabilities including TLS/SSL support.

The EHS5-E includes a Java ME 3.2 open platform with 6MB RAM and 10MB flash file system, enabling multi-threaded programming and simultaneous execution of multiple applications. It offers USB 2.0 High Speed interface up to 480 Mbps, multiple GPIO lines, serial interfaces (ASC0/ASC1), digital audio interface, and UICC/SIM card support with both 1.8V and 3V compatibility.

Operating across an extended temperature range of -40°C to +90°C with a supply voltage of 3.3-4.5V, the module features advanced capabilities including RLS monitoring for jamming detection, integrated FOTA for royalty-free firmware updates, and comprehensive voice support with multiple speech codecs (FR, HR, EFR, AMR). The EHS5-E holds CE and R&TTE approvals and is compliant with EuP, RoHS, and REACH standards, providing reliable 3GPP Rel.7 compliant connectivity for demanding industrial applications.
