Cinterion PVS8

The Cinterion PVS8 is the thinnest CDMA LGA module in the market at just 2mm in height, designed for M2M applications requiring wireless connectivity. This dual-band CDMA2000 module supports BC0/BC1 & BC10 subclass 2+3 (800/1900MHz) frequencies with 1x Advanced and EV-DO Rev. A capabilities, delivering data rates up to 3.1 Mbps downlink and 1.8 Mbps uplink on EV-DO Rev.A, and up to 307.2 kbps both ways on 1x Advanced.

The module features full voice support with optimized analog audio processing for handset, headset, and hands-free telephony, including dual microphone support for non-stationary background noise suppression. It includes both analog (balanced) and digital audio interfaces (PCM or I2S), along with TTY support. The PVS8 offers comprehensive connectivity through USB 2.0 High Speed interface up to 480 Mbps and high-speed serial interface up to 920 kbps.

GPS/GLONASS functionality is integrated with standalone and A-GPS support (XTRA, CP E911), NMEA-0183 V2.3 protocol, and tracking sensitivity better than -158 dBm. The module provides TCP/IP stack access via AT commands, SMS support in text and PDU modes, and phonebook functionality.

Measuring 29 × 33 × 2 mm in an LGA mounting format, the PVS8 operates on 3.3-4.2V supply voltage across an extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. It includes improved power management features for battery preservation and reduced heat generation, with optimized heat dissipation design. The module comes with FCC, UL, IC, and CCF certifications, plus Verizon Wireless (CDG1/CDG2) and Sprint approvals. Driver support includes RIL/NDIS/USB/MUX drivers for Windows XP/Vista/7, Windows Embedded Handheld, Windows Embedded Compact, Android OS, and CDC-ACM compliant mode for Linux. The PVS8 is RoHS and WEEE compliant, making it suitable for ruggedized mobile computing, security solutions, and medical equipment applications.
