Cinterion BGS2T RS485 Terminal

The Cinterion BGS2T RS485 Terminal is an ultra-compact plug-and-play GPRS connectivity solution designed for industrial M2M applications. This terminal features a Quad-Band GSM/GPRS baseband supporting 850/900/1800/1900 MHz frequencies with GPRS Class 10 data transmission, delivering download speeds up to 85.6 kbps and upload speeds up to 42.8 kbps.

Housed in a robust plastic enclosure measuring just 80 x 55 x 23 mm and weighing 65g, the terminal operates across a wide temperature range of -30°C to +75°C and accepts input voltages from 8-30V. The RS485 variant includes a 6-pin header with RS-485 interface, power, and ignition/reset connections, along with an SMA antenna connector and integrated Mini-SIM card reader supporting both 1.8V and 3.0V cards.

The terminal offers comprehensive connectivity features including TCP/IP stack access via AT commands, support for multiple internet services (FTP, ICMP, DNS, TCP server & client, UDP client, HTTP, SMTP, POP3), SMS text and PDU mode capabilities, and Fax Group 3 support. Its flexible mounting system accommodates DIN rail, C-rail, screw fixing, and cable tie installations, making it ideal for metering, security, transportation, and remote monitoring applications.

With full type approval including CE, R&TTE, GCF, FCC, PTCRB, and IC certifications, plus RoHS and WEEE compliance, the BGS2T RS485 Terminal provides reliable, cost-effective wireless connectivity for small-scale deployments and first-time M2M implementers. The device features operating status LEDs, real-time clock with alarm functionality, and firmware update capability via serial interface.
